Frequently asked questions · Folio 04

What clients ask before suing.

Is it worth suing?+

It depends on three numbers: what you can recover, what the trial costs and how collectible the other side is. We give you that read before starting; sometimes the honest answer is to negotiate.

What do I do if my tenant does not pay?+

Review the contract and document the arrears. There are routes to demand payment and recover the property; the path depends on the contract and on the state where the property sits. We start with a serious formal demand.

Does a private settlement have legal force?+

Yes. A well drafted settlement binds the parties, and with the right formalities it becomes much faster to enforce. It is the exit we use most to close disputes.

How long does a civil trial take?+

It varies by state, subject matter and court workload. In the proposal we give you a realistic range for your case and the ways to shorten it, such as negotiating in parallel.

How much does it cost?+

A fixed fee in writing based on the matter and the stage, before we start. No hourly billing.

Shall we size your case?
